On Tuesday We Celebrated Our 10th Red Jacket Championship….!
Members who took part in our first ever “FORE” Business National Open last month at Donnington Grove Country Club near Newbury, have hailed the event a great success!
The larger than life business and golf networking event was attended by more than 47 members from “FORE” Business groups as far as Derby, Romford and Chipping Norton.
Members were then treated to the Dean Davis Trick Golf Show featuring ‘iron shots’ using a household appliance that is more commonly used to remove creases from your clothes, and an amazingly impressive exploding golf ball shot. This routine featured Ben Fowler from Fowler Brothers who bravely allowed Dean to drive the ball straight at him from just 10 yards! Nerves of steel prevailed as Ben courageously donned a nice pair of yellow safety glasses and survived to tell the tale. Well done Ben!
The day proved to be a winning success for everyone, not just the prize winners, which included Gordon Johnston from HJS Recovery and our official sponsor for the day, who recorded an impressive 42 points off a 10 handicap. Gordon was also part of the winning group with an overall score of 87, his fellow teams mates were Steve Whiteside from Whiteside Kitchens and Bathrooms, Tom Ridley from Purple Orange and Git Patel from All Needs Group.
The Longest Drive, sponsored by Stellar Despatch went to Nick Beaumont-Jones from Auditel and Nearest The Pin, sponsored by Mike Gordon went to Les Sheppard from 1st Call 4 Service.
Other golfing highlights included an eagle on the 17th with 441 yards by James Hunt from Pay As You Go SEO/SLH who holed his 100 yards pitch for a two! Also worthy of special mentions are Lisa Cannings from Abbey Antiques, Chris Clacey from A One Insurance and Tony Morris from Sales Doctor.
Both Chris and Lisa were vying to become the best dressed golfer and were equally impressive, however we’re not too sure about adding the orange trousers as modeled by Chris, with “FORE” and “BIZ” sewn onto the outside of his trousers, to our new range of corporate golf wear just yet!
And as for Tony Morris … well it was entertaining for us and certainly not for Tony to hear about his drive off the tee into his nether regions! Perhaps he was trying to audition for the Dean Davis Golf Show or was it the added pressure of being announced so professionally on the first tee by the lovely Jane?
Before the ceremonies finished for the evening we shared the details about the exciting new sponsorship opportunities within “FORE” Business and are delighted to announce that Andy Shore from Brooksure Commercial insurance has taken both logos on the golf caps, Joel Zimelstern from The Right Claim has sponsored the Romford group and Chris Clacey from A One Insurance has secured the 1st place on the members’ shirts.
The day concluded with much continued laughter in the bar, supplemented by numerous golf stories and shots of a different kind (as you can see)!
A very special thanks again to Paul White from Ultimate Images for his fantastic photos, of which your lovely photos can be purchased herehttps://www.ultimate-images.co.uk/photocart/index.php?do=photocart&viewGallery=19424#page=thumbs
Thank you again for making the day such a success and we promise to share our calendar of additional events before the end of the year.
Best wishes and don’t forget……..keep driving and networking!
